Mercedes Benz is credited as one of the first known users of the Paintless Dent Repair technology as early as the 1950′s, this method expanded to the U.S. in the late 1980s, and has since evolved into what it is today. Paintless Dent Repair is now used in the removal of small dents and door dings, as well as larger hail damage and other various dents.
FAQ'S
Our pricing is much cheaper – up to 80% cheaper – than a body shop. Small door dings can generally be removed for under $100. Of course, larger dents and hail damage would need to be seen to be estimated but will still come out much cheaper than a body shop.
Our repairs take minutes, not days. A typical dime to quarter size dent will take 30-45 minutes. Instead of being without your car while it’s at a body shop for 3-4 days, you can go to lunch and we’ll have your car finished when you return.
Most door dings, creases and hail damage do not actually have any paint damage to begin with. A body shop will typically just “fill” the dent in with putty, sand it down smooth, and repaint the panel. Anytime you paint your car you depreciate it’s value.
Weare dedicated to providing a quality service. We will not be satisfied with anything less than 100% customer satisfaction. Our work isguaranteed to restore the value of your car as if the damage had never occurred.
Some companies will drill holes in your vehicle to access the back side of the dent – generally in an inconspicuous place. There are only two excuses for this: 1) Inexperience and 2) not taking the time to do it right. Not only is this generally not accepted among the professionals in the industry, if not sealed properly it can cause corrosion problems later. At Express Dent, we have a no holes policy. Generally 95% of the time there is no need to drill holes in your car’s door jambs, wheel wells, etc. If for some reason a hole is needed, we would ask for your permission first and properly seal it when we are finished.
DOES YOUR DENT QUALIFY?
The main qualifying points as to whether a dent can be removed using Paintless Dent Repair are simple. The original paint needs to be intact and the dent can not include an edge of a panel such as the red areas in the picture above. Edges are sometimes possible; however, this varies among different automobile manufacturers. All makes and models are Paintless Dent Repaircandidates. However, performing Paintless Dent Repair on vehicles manufactured prior to 1980 becomes more limited.
